Vincenza Valerino, beloved matriarch, was born on March 12th, 1930, in Sicily, Italy, and peacefully passed away with her family by her side on May 13th, 2024, in Monroeville, PA. She embarked on a journey to America on December 28th, 1948, where she found love with her husband, Patsy Valerino. Vincenza was the only descendant from Italy that came to America. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, blessed with three children: the late Shirley Valerino, Nick Valerino, and Michael and Suzie Valerino. Vincenza adored her grandchildren, Michael Valerino Jr., Kimberly and Justin Petri, and Ricky Zist, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kayla Valerino and Nicolette Petri, who brought endless joy into her life.
Vincenza was a pillar of strength and resilience, dedicating herself to her family and her work. She spent many years at Kuehn’s Dairy Farm in Monroeville, PA, and Joe's Butcher Shop in Pitcairn, PA, retiring at the remarkable age of 85. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own kin, as she played an integral role in raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
In her leisure time, Vincenza found solace in her passions for knitting, crocheting, going to bingo, and preparing dinners for her cherished family. Her culinary creations and handcrafted treasures will be lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to experience them. Vincenza also loved butterflies, and whenever you see a beautiful butterfly, you think of her.
Vincenza is preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Teresa Parello, of Sicily, Italy, as well as her brother, Domenico Parello, of England, sister, Maria Parello. She is survived by her brother, and Stefano Parello, of Sicily, Italy.
The family suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Foundation in memory of Vincenza Valerino.
Though she may have departed this world, Vincenza Valerino's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
