On Saturday April 25 2026 passed peacefully with his beautiful family by his side. Sam was born in Pittsburgh on July 19, 1936 to the late Samuel Sr. and Christine Barone. Beloved husband of Marylyn (Betz) Barone. Devoted dad to Kira (Scott) Brady, Tania Wood and Judith (Andrew Steinberger) Cook. Special grandfather of 8 as well as 7 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a sister Loraine (late Joe) Barbone.
Sam was a devoted husband and served his country in the US Navy. He was a dedicated member of the former St. Robert Bellarmine Church in North Versailles where he worked tirelessly in the Men’s Club. He also volunteered at Ma’s Pantry and a member of the Byzantine Serra’s Club. Traveling with his beloved wife throughout the world and faith and family were most important to him.
Family and friends are welcome in Alfieri Funeral Home Inc. Wilmerding, Pa on Monday from 2:00 until 8:00 Pm with a Prastos Service at 6:00 Pm. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday at 1pm at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church. Everyone is asked to please meet directly at the church. Sam will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mt. St. Macrina, Uniontown, Pa in memory of Sam’s favorite places.
