Rose M. (Basa) Patella

January 4, 1931 - August 19, 2021

Peacefully passed in her life long home, on August 19, 2021 at the age of 90. Rose was the loving mother of Antoinette (Ed) Zyma, Lisa Patella and John (Lisa) Patella. She was the adoring grandmother of Jennifer Hopper, Daniel Zyma, Anthony (Marne) Patella and Nick Patella; great-grandmother of Sophia, Eric and Nathaniel Hopper, Santino, Luca, Gia and Roman Patella. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Pavlecic, nieces, nephews, her loyal Yorkie, JJ, and all who loved her. Rose was preceded in passing by her husband, Vincent “China” Patella, parents, Andrew and Mara Basa, and her other siblings. Rose lived in the same home her entire life. She often spoke of the fond memories she had growing up in, and raising her children in the same house. She had a love of cooking, especially gnocchi’s. She worked at Angie’s Restaurant for over 20 years. She loved to garden, and loved her rose bushes. She enjoyed canning tomato sauce. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed all the time she spent with them. She was a beautiful mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are welcome in the Alfieri Funeral Home, Inc., 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, Pa 15148, 412-824-4332, on Tuesday from 2pm to 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude the Apostle Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Wednesday at 10am.
