Peacefully passed on Thursday, January 20, 2022, age the age of 72, with his loving daughter at his side. Roland was the loving father of Nastassja (Amir) Reese-Bogan, adoring grandfather of Trinity Bonner and Amir Reese Bogan. Roland was preceded in passing by his parents, John and Gussie (Oliver) Reese, and his sister, Lynnette Ramsey. He is also survived by his niece, Shelly Brannan and great-niece, Francine Yesko, and many friends.
Roland grew up in Wilmerding, and eventually moved to Swissvale and graduated from Swissvale High School. Roland was a proud United States Marine Veteran, and served his country during the Vietnam War. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Warrendale Post Office. From there he met Sheila Curberson-Kenney and their daughter Nastassaja Reese was born. He was good with his hands, putting things together and building things. He loved to dance and listen to Jazz music. Roland loved the Lord. He adored his daughter and grandchildren. He was very dedicated and always attended and supported their activities. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are welcome in the Alfieri Funeral Home, Inc., 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, Pa 15148, 412-824-4332, on Monday from 2pm-4pm and from 6pm-8pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11am at Faith Bible Baptist Church, Wilkins Township. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.
