On March 10th, 2020, Patricia “Patty” K. Schaffer, age 66, died in her sleep surrounded by loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Katherine Fetch, brothers Don and Jim.
Survived by her loving family: husband, Jim Schaffer, daughter, Lindsay Schaffer and Dan Stolze, their child Lena Mae, daughter, Danielle Schaffer, brother Ken, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Mom was one of four children, and spent the majority of her life spreading love throughout her family and community, devoting all of her time to caring for those around her. She was an avid reader, caregiver, cookie baker, volunteer, bunco player, mother, and friend to countless individuals. She touched the lives of many through her work with the Girl Scouts. More than anything, she loved her grandchild and children, yes in that order. She valued her close-knit family and marveled at our accomplishments, health, and happiness, and relished in spending time with her friends. There never was a person who could utter an ill word in her direction, because she was the true embodiment of love. The world mourns her passing with the gravest sincerity, because she truly was one in a million — a selfless, loving example of how we all should be.
