Norene Keyser

Norene Keyser passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the age of 86 in Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida. Born in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania, she was raised on Maple Avenue in a home her family built in 1898 before settling in Churchill, where she raised her family.

Norene attended St. Colman's School and Wilmerding High School. She went on to attend Carnegie Tech before joining the family's financial services firm, The Shiring Agency, started by her grandfather, Bob Shiring, later owned by her mother, Irene (Shiring) Keyser.

Norene was active in many causes, including the Multiple Sclerosis Society of America and the Navy League of the Unites States, Ft. Lauderdale Council. She was an avid traveler and collector, embarking on many adventures to exotic lands.

Norene is survived by her loving and devoted son, Gregg Ficery, and his wife, Kristin. She was a special grandmother ("Nikki") to Meredith and Charlotte Ficery. Norene's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, who delighted in performing cooking shows together while making their favorite recipes, and her creative party planning for their birthdays and special events.

Norene lit up a room when she hit the dance floor, and her flair for entertaining, fashion, and design was always a cut above. She had a unique way of making everyone, especially her family, friends, and clients, feel so special.

Norene was preceded in passing by her parents, Norman and Irene Keyser, and her sister Judith Contich. She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Daniele, and the Shiring family at large.

Family and friends are welcome at the Alfieri Funeral Home, 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, PA 15148, on Friday, January 17, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 10:00 AM in St. Colman Church (St. Joseph the Worker), Turtle Creek, PA, followed by burial at New St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles, Pennsylvania. Please visit us at www.alfierifuneralhome.com for online condolences.
