Mildred “Mimi” (Wukich) Smith, of North Versailles, peacefully passed on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the age of 97. Mimi was the beloved wife of the late Clemeth Smith. She was the loving mother of Michele Karas and Deanie (Rob) Cooke. Adoring grandmother of Danielle Karas (David Kosco) and Bryan (Jenna) Karas, great-grandmother of Carson, Kendal, and JR. She is also survived by her special niece, Nichole Payne, numerous nieces and nephews, and all who loved her. In addition to her husband, Clemeth, she was also preceded in passing by her parents, Milic and Anna (Madjerich) Wukich, and all of her siblings.
Mimi worked as a nurse for several years at West Penn Hospital. She also operated the Mosside Inn for several years. She was a dedicated Orthodox Christian. She was an Honorary Member of the Sveti Petka Circle of Serbian Sisters. Mimi was a dedicated mother at Shadeland Camp in Springboro, Pa where in all capacities, from cooking and cleaning, to raising funds for the playground. She has left a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday from 4pm to 8pm at Alfieri Funeral Home, Inc., 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, Pa 15148, 412-824-4332. A Pomen Service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30pm. Additional visitation on Monday from 10am until the time of service at 11am at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, Monroeville.
