Marko "Mark" Vukich Obituary

Marko “Mark” S. Vukich, of Monroeville, peacefully passed on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the age of 71. Mark was the devoted husband of Karen (Petrillo) Vukich for 44 years. He was the beloved father of Greg Vukich and adoring grandfather of Isabella Catherine. Mark was the brother of Georgia (late Don) Bugajski, Timothy (Janet) Pribanic, Michael (Isabel) Vukich, and Jen (Michael) Starr. He was the nephew of Martha Vukich and uncle of Steven Bugajski, Keith Bugajski, Josh Pribanic, Jacob Pribanic, Joseph Vukich, Lindsey Gatny, Mike Vukich, Cara Smarelli, Maria Kichler, Breck Petrillo, Nathan Patrillo, Anna Petrillo, A.J. Petrillo, Adam Patrillo, and Jenna Schreiber. He is also survived by his brother in laws, Larry (Linda) Petrillo, David (Renee) Petrillo, Drew (JoAnn) Petrillo, beloved cousins, other relatives and many friends. Mark was preceded in passing by his parents, Eli Vukich and Sarah Saula.

Mark valiantly fought M.S. for 25 years. He was employed by the City of Pittsburgh EMS. He also worked at US Steel Duquesne where he fulfilled his dream of marrying an Italian nurse. He finished his career at Penn Hills EMS where he was a Paramedic Crew Chief. Since childhood, he was drawn to helping others. This was evidenced by him joining West Wilmerding VFD at an early age and would be seen running down Greensburg Pike to the fire station with his boots in hand whenever a call came in. He ended his service as a Volunteer Fireman after many years of service at Monroeville VFC #4.

Mark was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Monroeville. He loved racquet sports, and enjoyed all sports especially the Pirates and Penn State. Above all he loved his family and the time he spent with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark’s memory can be made to the M.S. Society, St. Nicholas Church, or a charity of your choice.
