Marcella (Spezza) Vivio

January 16, 1947 - September 19, 2021

Marcella Anne Vivio, age 74, passed away on September 19, 2021. She was born in East Carnegie, the eldest daughter of Guy Eugene and Margaret (Musico) Spezza. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dominic (Nick) Vivio, who passed in 2000.

After Marcella graduated from Canevin High School, she pursued a modeling career where she walked the runways for Joseph Horne’s, Gimbel’s Brothers and Kaufman’s department stores.

Marcella and Nick loved each other deeply and enjoyed hosting parties while entertaining friends at their home in Detroit, Michigan. Following Nick’s retirement from the Ford Motor Company, Marcella and Nick returned to Pittsburgh and resided in Monroeville. She was a long time member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America – Fidelity Lodge, where she fostered many lasting friendships, especially Adeline Makar. Despite declining health, Marcella maintained a positive outlook with lots of laughter and a generous, forgiving spirit.

Marcella is survived by her loving sister, Paula (John) Tishok; brother, Mark (Diane) Spezza; nephew, Adam (Simone Mikolich) Tishok; nieces, Alora (Aundre Green) Tishok and Mia (Ryan Navarolli) Spezza; grandnieces, Nadia Tishok and Soleia Tishok; and numerous cousins. The family would like to give special thanks to cousin Patty Grisez from Canton, Ohio, whose frequent calls and long lasting friendship were a source of comfort to Marcella; to the Funaro Family, especially Lorrie and Theodore Hatcher, whose steadfast love and support helped Marcella through the most difficult times, and to Judy, a lay deacon from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, who administered holy communion and pastoral services to Marcella.  Additionally, we feel grateful to the nursing and social services staff at Kane Hospital-Scott for their care and attentiveness, and to those who send prayers and messages during this difficult time.
