James (“Jim”) Lombardo passed away on June 28, 2024 at the age of 71 at home in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania.
A native of Wilmerding, Pennsylvania, Jim was born on March 15, 1953 to Madeline (Stein) and James Lombardo. He graduated from East Allegheny High School. Shortly thereafter, he sold his antique car for bricks and along with his father-in-law, built the family home in Pitcairn with his own two hands. He worked for Westinghouse, as a mason and most recently as a custodian for Gateway School District for 26 years. He retired in 2019.
Jim cherished his family, friends and pets. Wherever Jim went, he created and maintained lasting and fulfilling friendships. He was an avid hunter, skilled archer, gardener and woodworker with an uncanny ability to tell if something is level.
Jim will be remembered for the joy he found in taking care of others as well as his work ethic. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia (Mignogna); children, Concetta Lombardo and Jenna (Adam) DiMenno; sister Shirley (John) Swizoral; granddaughter, Lena DiMenno; dog Tucker and cats, Opie and Luna.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday July 7 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Alfieri Funeral Home, Inc., 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, Pa 15148, 412-824-4332. Jim leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and kindness that will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends. He was a man of principle to which everyone he held close could depend upon. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
