James "Giz" Gatto

James “Giz” Gatto, of North Versailles, peacefully passed on Monday, June 15, 2026 at the age of 86. Giz was the devoted husband of Deborah “Debbie” (Lucarelli) Gatto. He was the loving father of Chris (Jessica) Gatto and Jamie (Danny) Gatto Normandeau. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary (late Tom) Beswick and JoAnn (Bob) Galasso, sister-in-law, Sandy (Nick) Fiasco, brother-in-law, Angelo (Diane) Lucarelli, aunt, Dolores Varuola, close cousin, Theresa Barone, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Victor and Mary (Lovett) Gatto, and sister, Betty Jane Dunham.

Giz was a fun and loving man. He had a love of life and people, especially his family. He enjoyed the yearly family trip to Ocean City, Maryland. He also enjoyed linguine and white clam sauce at Lombardi’s in Ocean City. Just a few weeks ago, he finally got to go on a train ride, something he’s wanted to do since childhood. 

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, from 2pm to 8pm at the Alfieri Funeral Home, Inc., 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, Pa 15148, 412-824-4332. A Blessing Service will be held on Friday at 11am in the funeral home. Giz will be laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville.
