George “Willie” Mrdjenovich, of Wall, peacefully passed on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the age of 79. Willie was the devoted husband of Joanne (Calley) Mrdjenovich for 60 years. He was the loving father of Georgeann (Mark) Zvolensky, Mike (Kristin) Mrdjenovich; proud grandfather of Mark (fiancé Taylor) Zvolensky, Kayla (Garner) Kreamer, Mikey Mrdjenovich and Mia Mrdjenovich. He is also survived by his sister, Gina Mrdjenovich, numerous nieces and nephews, many friends, and his special companion, his dog Reba. Willie was preceded in passing by his son, George Mrdjenovich, parents, George and Wanda (Dombroski) Mrdjenovich, and sister, Joan Mrdjenovich.
Willie worked at the Edgar Thompson Works in the Blast Furnace for 40 years. He started a successful concrete company, GM Construction, with his sons George and Mike in 2006. He continued to work and run his company up until May of 2025. Willie proudly served as Mayor of Wall for 4 years in the early 90's. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a very hard worker who loved the simple things in life, sunny days, gardening, boating, and dancing. He also loved to tell a good joke. Above all, Willie adored his family and friends and loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
His Lord said to him “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
