Dorothy Jane (Miller) Hanna
April 26, 1923 - December 15, 2020
Dorothy Jane (Miller) Hanna passed away on December 15, 2020 at age 97. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Glenn Hanna. She is survived by her children, Pat (Ed) Stotler, Karen (Mark) Pie, Glenn (Patty) Hanna, and Cheryl Romanik, 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 6 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Virginia Wilson and Alice Miller, and brother, Calvin Miller, and son-in-law, Jim Romanik. Her greatest joy was her family. Her legacy is that all of her children and grandchildren are followers of Christ and actively serve God and His church. She was a woman of great strength, faith and integrity. “Her children rise up and call her blessed.” (Proverbs 31:28)
All who knew her were impacted by her expressions of love, her sense of humor, her selflessness, her wisdom, and her pies. She always welcomed people into her home for a meal or a place to stay, saying, “There is always room for one more.” In addition to being a full-time mother, Dorothy was employed as an administrative assistant at Carnegie-Mellon University, WQED-TV, and as a transcriptionist at DeLaTorre Orthotics. She did not fully retire until age 87.
A time for friends to personally express condolences will be held on Saturday, December 19 from 9-11 am at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2225 Grandview Avenue, Monroeville PA 15146. A private internment will take place Monday in Warriors Mark,PA. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the Spring.
