Dorothy Lillian "Dotti" (Kitchen) Wilhide, of Houston, PA, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the age of 83. Dotti was the beloved wife of James I Wilhide, Jr for 62 wonderful years and mother to Heather S (Wilhide) Cruz for 50 of them. She was also the proud Grammie of 2 grandsnakes, Sani and Em who brought her great joy and love. She is also survived by her siblings, Dolores (Ken) Cubanski and Paul (Ann) Kitchen and many nieces, nephews and countless honorary ones. She was preceeded in passing by her parents, Regis A and Lillian C (Gorham) Kitchen and siblings Carol (Mike) Carlson, Regis (Jane) Kitchen and DeLee (Karen) Kitchen.
Dotti spent her life helping others. She was the Homeroom Mother, Girl Scout Mom and Day Camp Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Backstage Mom and Band Parent for all the kids who's parents had to work and couldn't be there. She was also there for many adults as well as a devoted friend, Aglow Board Member and Weight Watchers Lecturer. Together with Jim they were members of the Corvette Club of Western PA and Co-Treasurers of the Chartiers-Houston Band Parents.
Family and friends are welcome in Alfieri Funeral Home Inc. 201 Marguerite Ave. Wilmerding PA 15148 on Thursday from 3:00 until 8:00 PM with a brief service at 7:00 PM.
Dottie will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
