Dorothy (Hardin) Volpe

Peacefully passed on May 17, 2022, at age 97, with her two sons and daughter-in-law by her side.  Dorothy was the devoted wife of the late John L. Volpe. She was the loving mother of Kathy (Martin) DeRoy, Lou (Peggy) Volpe, Guy (Karen) Volpe, and the late John (surviving Kelly) Volpe. Dorothy was the adoring grandmother of Jennifer (Keith) Ambrose, J.J. (Amanda) DeRoy, Louis (Maria) Volpe, and Sabrina (Ross) Gilchriest, great-grandmother of Anna, Natalie, Michael and Stella. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition, her husband and son, Dorothy was preceded in passing by her parents, Michael and Anna (Sayka) Hardin, and her siblings, Margaret Rosevitik and Irene Yager.

Family and Friends are welcome in the Alfieri Funeral Home, Inc., 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, PA, 15148, 412-824-4332, on Tuesday, May 24 from 4pm – 8pm. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11am. Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, John, in New St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
