Cvetozar Stewart "Stu" Karan

Stewart lived to celebrate his 100th birthday with the community at Asbury Heights Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by parents, George “Djuri” and Mileva; brothers, Joseph and Robert; sisters, Naida and Betty, and survived by Rose, his companion of 42 years and Karen and Mark Karan. Stewart was a proud patriot and served his country in World War II as a member of the 101st Airborne. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and was employed by US Steel. Stewart was an avid reader who enjoyed politics, painting and the culinary arts. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends received at the ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, PA 15148 (412) 824-4332, on Wednesday, from 6pm to 8pm. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11am with the Very Rev. Rajko Kosic officiating. Stu will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles.  In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
