Cathy S. Horton

Cathy Horton, 70, of New Stanton passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, August 7, 2022.

Beloved mother of Michael Horton and his wife Stephanie. Cherished Grandmother (Nunnie) of Niko Horton. Loving Sister of Judy Pfouts, Robert (Bobby) Mathis, and Michael Mathis. Caring Aunt of Gypsey Pfouts, Barbara (Barbie) Pfouts, Stephen (Stevie) Pfouts and the late Stephanie (Stephi) Pfouts. Daughter of the late Barbara and Rodney Mathis, Cathy was the oldest of her three siblings and a natural born caregiver. She dedicated her life to her one true passion of
being a mother. At age 25 Cathy began her journey with her son. They were best friends who shared many family trips together. She was also known to be quite the prankster and the most selfless woman you could ever meet. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her Grandson on the weekends. Cathy was a three time cancer survivor and a lifelong supporter of St. Jude. A special thanks to Nurse Nikki, Nurse Jessica, and all other caregivers at
Redstone Highlands for their exceptional care and compassion. 

A celebration of life will be held on August 28, 2022 from 12pm - 4pm at Carbon firehall 421
Juniper St. Greensburg, PA 15601.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's
