Anthony R. “Scorch” Bacco Sr.
Peacefully, on December 3, 2018, age 95 of East McKeesport. He was the son of the late Joseph and Clara (Pecora) Bacco, beloved husband of the late Eileen F. Bacco, devoted father to sons Anthony (Andrea) Bacco and David (Evelyn) Bacco. Devoted grandfather to Melissa, Tammy and Christine Bacco, great grandfather to Madison, Christopher and Jeremy. Brother of John, Gabriel “Rub”, Rose Hyde, the late Caroline, Patsy, Arthur “Artie”, Joseph Jr., Sam, Louis, Angelina Cucaro, Flora Reardon. Mr. Bacco served in the Navy during World War II. He was the quintessential bartender who worked at the Holiday House for almost 24 years. His boss, John Bertera, used to say two things about Mr. Bacco; his last drink was a good as his first, and if you left a million dollars in his register, it would still be there at the end of the shift. After leaving the Holiday House, Mr. Bacco worked part time at Birdie’s, a few miles east of Route 22 and the later at Al Monzo’s Palace Inn Route 22 & 48 before officially retiring. Mr. Bacco had a knack for remembering all the comic shows funny one liners and jokes. He was even better at telling them which he loved to do! He really loved bartending and being around people. But most of all, Mr. Bacco was a devoted family man who through his whole married life was always concerned and worked for the well-being of his family. Family and friends are welcome in Alfieri Funeral home, 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding on Sunday from 2pm to 8pm. Please meet at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville on Monday for 12:30 Pm with a blessing service and Military Honors. Please visit us at www.alfierifuneralhome.com for online condolences.
