In Loving Memory of Anita Marie (Perla) Giacchino
November 28, 1932 – June 8, 2025

With deep sorrow and eternal gratitude, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Anita Perla Giacchino, who was surrounded by her loving children and their spouses as she entered eternal rest on June 8, 2025. She was 92 years old. 

Born in Swissvale, PA, Anita was the youngest of six children to Mary and Levio Perla. Raised in a close-knit Italian family, she carried the values of faith, tradition, and unconditional love throughout her life. 

Anita was the wife of the late Ross Giacchino, with whom she built a beautiful life filled with faith, laughter, and family. Together, they raised five cherished children: Blaise (Rosemary), Ross (Lisa), Mary, Mark (Kim), and Michael (Gina).

She was the proud and adored matriarch of a large and loving family that includes 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives in each of them, shaped by the love, wisdom, and joy she so generously shared. 
Anita had a delightful wit and a twinkle in her eye that brought laughter to every room. Her sharp sense of humor, gentle strength, and ever-present kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. 

Sunday dinner was Mom’s favorite day of the week – a time when her family would gather around her table, share stories, and enjoy the warmth of being together. Her cooking, her laughter, and her love made those Sundays unforgettable. 

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the beautiful memories she gave us and the generations she inspired. Anita’s spirit will forever guide us, and her love will live on in every Sunday dinner, every shared laugh, and every family gathering. 

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 11, from 2pm to 8pm in the Alfieri Funeral Home, Inc., 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, Pa 15148, 412-824-4332. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, at St. Jude the Apostle Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. Anita will be laid to rest at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville.
