Albert A. "Al" Lonzo
October 16, 1929 - October 28, 2020
Albert A. Lonzo, 91, of Wall, PA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 28th, 2020. He was born on October 16th, 1929 in Wilmerding, PA to the late Nicholas Lonzo and Anna (Slovina) Maljan. Due to a rumored mistake on his birth certificate, Al always celebrated his birthday on both the 15th and 16th, not surprising for someone always known to be the life of the party.
On February 28th, 1951 he married the love of his life, Dolores (Gojkovich) Lonzo. Over the last 70 years, they built a beautiful life together which focused heavily on the importance of family. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Al's greatest joy in life was his family. He never met a person that he didn't love or welcome with open arms. He took anyone in need under his wing and always treated everyone like a part of the family. He spent his 91 years on earth instilling in his children the importance of family values and always being there for each other, no matter what. Al’s personality was like a magnet, often attracting a crowd with his contagious smile and jokester personality. He will be remembered for his quick wit and original songs. His beautiful life will forever be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Al was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church Monroeville. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Al belonged to the Plumb Creek Monroeville Masonic Lodge #799 for over 50 years. And was also a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite Freemasonry, NMJ.
