Debbie and family-- I am so very sorry to about Paul. He was a beautiful, kind, and thoughtful person, just as you are. You probably don't remember who I am-- I met/ knew you when I was dating Paul Dering (in the mid to late 70's-- I was going to nursing school)-- in fact it was his younger sister, Linda who delivered the sad news to me. I will always have and hold on to my happy memories of Paul and I visiting Paul and you, spending many evenings socializing at the round table in your cozy kitchen. Please know that I am thinking of you and sending you many prayers. I know the pain of losing a spouse firsthand, having lost my first husband, Randy when he was just 30 years old. If I can ever help you with support in any way, my email is there, just drop me a line and I'll send you my phone # if you would like to talk. Linda, Paul Dering's sister just lost her husband last year on St Patrick's Day. I am glad to see that you have a big family, too-- I am sue that you will have tremendous amounts of support from them now and always. You are probably familiar with a little place called The Good Grief Center on Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill. I have used them myself for various situations, and they are a wonderful resource for anyone dealing with loss, anyone can use their service from small children to 99 year olds. They have a fantastic library if someone prefers to read, or you can talk to a case worker. (And it's free) I am sorry I got rather verbose, please forgive me. Please know that I am so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself, and know you are not alone.
