Patrick Anthony “J.J.” Smith (Toney)

Patrick. Age 64, of North Versailles was taken from us suddenly on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. He is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine M. LoChiatto-Smith. He is the son of the late Reposa (Bryan) Chin and Adolf Smith. Loving father of Patrick Anthony Smith Jr, Christopher Smith, Sherae Smith, Gino Smith, and Jason James. Devoted grandfather to many grandchildren. Dear brother of Wayne, Dennis, Angela. Joan, Audrey, Annette, Michelle, Michael, Susan, and Doreen. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Patrick came to the United States from Kingston, Jamaica 37 years ago with the original members of the S.W.A.M.M.P. Band. He was the love, the light, the wisdom and “HEARTBEAT” to the musicians in the bands he played with throughout his life. He was a source of much inspiration and positive energy to everyone he met. Nothing was more important to Patrick than his family and friends and bringing joy and happiness to every room. His presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from Noon to 8pm for visitation at Alfieri Funeral Home, Inc., 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, PA 15145, 412-824-4332. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, North Versailles at 10am on Wednesday September 25, 2019. Patrick will be laid to rest in New St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
