Peacefully on April 7, 2018 age 95 of Monroeville. Regarded as the “Greatest Generation” Larry served his country in the US Army during WWII where he played in the Timberwoods. He was also a professional musician playing in Big Bands. He was skilled in playing the flute, Saxophone and clarinet. Larry also played for a private audience for the late Pope John Paul II. Among Larry’s other accomplishments was a private pilot and his beloved daughters and grandchildren. Larry is survived by daughters, Lorraine Stephens, Canice “Candy” Sambol and Patti Masterson. Special grandfather of Sonya Boyd and Ashley Quail. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was proceeded in passing by his wife Margaret Jean (Kudravy) Oliver and siblings. Friends welcome in Alfieri Funeral Home 201 Marguerite Ave Wilmerding 412-824-4332 on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 Pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Am Wednesday in St. Bernadette Church Monroeville with Father Anthony Gargotta officiating.
