Cheryl L. (Merritts) Mitchell, 73, of Monroeville, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2917, after a long illness. Cheryl was the daughter of the late Ida Mae and Lester Merritts; beloved spouse of 55 years of W. Dale Mitchell; mother of Rebecca (Charles) Carl, Mark (Colleen) Mitchell and Dale (Jennifer) Mitchell; grandmother to six grandchildren, Christina (Patrick) Pollack, Kaycee Carl, Keelie and Kaitlin Mitchell and Amanda and Austin Mitchell; great-grandmother of three, Sophia and Alexander Pendleton and Carson Pollack. She is survived by sisters, Cynthia Kramer and Claudia Petkervich; and brothers, Jack Merritts and David Merritts. She was preceded in death by brother, Robert Merritts; and sisters, Claire Shephard and Carol Allison. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces, with love and recognition of a very special relationship with Patricia and Paula.
Family and friends will be welcomed from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, with a service at 7:30 p.m., at ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME, Wilmerding.
