Charles "Chink" Mrdjenovich

March 28, 1925 ~ November 14, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Charles Mrdjenovich, 92, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at Van Zandt VA Medical Center.  

He was born in Wall, son of the late Steve and Stanka (Petrovich) Mrdjenovich.  He married Mary G. Rugh in 1953.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years; two sons: Charles P. and wife, Jamie, in Calif. and David J. of Turtle Creek; two grandsons: David and William; and a sister, Melva Ligush of Turtle Creek. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews 

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War.  He worked for Sam Rae Car Shops for 44 years as a machinist.

Charles enjoyed gardening and helping others. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Altoona Bowling Hall of Fame and bowled three 300 games. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and he won the PA State Championship.

Friends will be received from 1 until the 4 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg. Additional visitation will be held in Alfieri Funeral Home Inc. Wilmerding PA 412-824-4332  on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 Pm. A service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 Am with the Very Rev. George Veselinovich officiating. Charles will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles Pa with Military Honors to follow.
