Viola Barton, 97, formerly of Wilmerding, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, in Texas, where she had moved to be with her family. She was a member of the former First United Methodist Church of Wilmerding, a member of the Eastern Star and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her son, Lynn, and his wife, Jean Barton; grandson, Lance and his wife, Pamela Barton; her great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Cassidy Barton; a sister, Grace Kellman; nieces and nephews; and all those lives she touched in a special way. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Carr and Myrtle Atwood; her husband, Glenn J. Barton; sisters, Myrtle Holsinger and Pearl Killian; and a brother, Harry Atwood. Family and friends are welcome to attend a commital service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, in the chapel at Restland Memorial Park, 990 Patton St., Monroeville, PA 15146.
