After bravely fighting a brief illness, Shirley Volpe is in heaven with her son Arthur Volpe, who proceeded her in passing. Shirley’s life work was being a mother to her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. Beloved wife of 60 years to Arthur “Lolly” Volpe. Loving mom of Michelle (Bill) Greene and Melanie (Kent Oestreich) Heuston and the late Arthur Volpe Jr. Special grandma of Mallory (Joe) Jackson, Madison Heuston and Harrison Heuston. Sister of Eileen DeFelice and Dexter Armstrong. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends welcome in Alfieri Funeral Home Inc. 201 Marguerite Ave. Wilmerding 412-824-4332 on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 Pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday at 10:00 Am in North American Martyrs Church with Father Joe Luisi officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest in New St. Joseph Cemetery.
