Quentin "Gregory" Guenzel

January 8, 1931 ~ April 28, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old




Quentin “Gregory” Guenzel passed away peacefully, at the age of 86, at home on April 28, surrounded by family. Greg was born in Beresford, South Dakota, and also lived in places such as Arkansas and Missouri, prior to settling down with his family in the Pittsburgh area in 1970. He lived in Monroeville until 2011 and then moved to North Huntingdon. Greg worked for 27 years as a clinical psychologist for the Highland Park Veterans Administration in Pittsburgh and also was proud to have served in the Navy from 1951 to 1954. He served in the Army Reserve for many years later in his life. Greg was happily married to his wife Teresa for 56 years and was a wonderful role model to sons Grant, late son Conrad, and Chris. He is also survived by daughters-in- law, Dana, Karen and Shannon, as well as 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. A private memorial service is being held for immediate family, and in celebration of his never-ending love for animals, donations can be made to The Humane Animal Rescue Wildlife Center 6000 Verona Road, Verona, PA 15147 or The Humane Society of Westmoreland County 1152 Route 119N, Greensburg, PA 15601. In addition, in Greg’s memory, as well as Conrad’s, 100 percent of donations made at the 6 th annual Conrad’s Concert, at Zanders in Plum on June 10, will go to the Veteran’s Place of Washington Boulevard, helping local veterans transition from “homeless to home.”
