My sincere condolences to the family and friends, so sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in knowing that Jehovah God will soon resurrect our dear loved ones (John 5:28-29). Oh how we long for the day when pain, suffering and death will be no more, these former things will have passed away (Revelation 21:3-5).

Dear Sobek Family,
I was your father's supervisor at US Steel in McKeesport, Pa. I started out as an inspector like your father but took advantage of opportunities along the way catapulting me into middle management. When the pipe mill shut down my family and I moved to B'ham to continue until I was cut in 1985. Your father was a highly respected inspector which was one of the many reasons we got along so well.
I was reflecting on a vacation that my wife and I had taken to Daytona Beach in May of 1978. While I waited for my wife to change clothes to go swimming I walked out onto our room's balcony and turned my head to the left bc I heard someone taking to his children and to my surprise it was your father, Marty. We had no idea that either of us were vacationing in Daytona Beach! We wanted to dine out together while in town but we both had full itineraries whereby the net day my wife and I had plans for Disney World for Mickey's 50th birthday festivities.
That brief time together has been on my mind over the past few months and went to see how I could reach your father and reminisce the old pipe mill days. I as shocked that your father had passed.
I truly am saddened by this news and I hope that your family had not had to endure a long grieving period although it never is truly over due to the whole in our lives that our loved ones leave with us . I am very pleased that your father had lived to be 90 years of age. That's from a well balanced life and honoring/celebrating his parents lives as the Bible tells us that those who "honor" they mother & father shall live a long, peaceful life. (You don't have to live or even like them but you are commanded to honor them, which if you do honor them, the like and love follows?).
May you be in peace at right the hand of our Lord & Creator. May your family have rest & peace in their hearts knowing that their father shall be counted among the most faithful.

Be Well and Be Blessed In All Things, Always!

Respectful,
James (Jim) J. Bartko

To my aunt Trudy, cousins Christine, Debbie, Marti and all of their families, let me extend mine and all my family members our deepest sympathy for the loss of Uncle Marty. How truly blessed we were to have him in our lives. We all know just how much he loved all of you. Uncle Marty took it a lot further than that. I never called ahead to see if I could come to visit Uncle Marty and Aunt Trudy, which would be the polite thing to do yet never ever did either one of them made me feel any less then family when I dropped in unexpectedly. Thank You, Uncle Marty, for giving me all the fond memories that I will carry in my heart for you always.
Love
Ken Sobek, Your Very Lucky Nephew to have had you as my Uncle.
